The Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic in Friuli-Venezia Giulia starts with the second stage of the circular trail Kobarid‒Cividale del Friuli/Čedad‒Kobarid at the border crossing Passo Solarie/Solarje; from there several paths lead to the Kolovrat ridge and concurrently to the World War I outdoor museum.
The route, in this case running along the Alpe Adria Trail and the Sentiero Italia, takes you to the heart of the Valli del Natisone/Nadiške doline, a unique geographical and cultural zone where Slavic and Mediterranean traditions interlace intensely.
The CAI 746 trail starts behind the Rifugio Solarie cottage and will take you to the picturesque village of Clabuzzaro/Brieg. On the way from the village take the asphalt road (CAI 746) to the junction with the provincial road SP 45, where the CAI 747 trail starts on the left.
The route is varied but not very demanding, running more or less parallel to the asphalt road; it will lead you past the centenary trees of this area. After about a 45-minute walk you come to San Volfango/Sv. Štuoblank, where a monument stands, dedicated to World War I. A military cemetery was located there during World War I (and in the initial post-war years).
Continue along the CAI 747 route, which also runs along the asphalt road for a short time, and turns off at the end of the settlement Rucchin/Zaločilo. The path leads you through beautiful nature to a fork. The left path ascends to the top of Mt. Cum/Hum, and the CAI 747a on the right winds along the hill slope and joins the main trail just before the settlement of Tribil Superiore/Gorenji Tarbij.
If you ascend Mt. Cum/Hum, you can see only partly visible but well-marked remains of World War I, such as trenches, shelters for soldiers and places where ammunition was kept.
Descend from the top of Mt. Cum/Hum to the fork with CAI 747a and continue in the direction of Tribil Superiore/Gorenji Tarbij which can be reached within 20 minutes.
