From the quiet village of Malchina/Mavhinje continue along the Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic towards Trieste/Trst. Before you conclude the tour in the city, you have to traverse the last stage which crosses the karst plateau, where you can see many interesting World War I remains.
In the first part of this stage, you will be enraptured with the beautiful nature along typical karst trails as well as with the architecture and tradition of small karst villages in the municipality of Duino Aurisina/Devin Nabrežina. It is a must to stop in one of the osmiza-s to taste some local delicacies.
From Malchina continue along the CAI 3 (which took you from Medeazza/Medja vas to Monte Ermada/Grmada in the previous stage) to the fork with the CAI 32 which will take you first to Precenico Superiore/Gorenji Prečnik, and then, within about an hour, to San Pelagio/Šempolaj.
Entering the village and following its streets you reach the church. Soon you cross the provincial road SP 5 and after a few tens of metres the CAI 10 trail starts on the left. It will lead you to the village Prepotto/Praprot and to the Park Škaljunk Lupinc.
Having visited this unique historical park, continue along the CAI 10 and soon turn right to the CAI 35 which will take you past Grotta Caterina/Katra pečina and then to the SP 5 provincial road. After about ten minutes you will reach Aurisina Stazione/Nabrežina Postaja, where the CAI 19 route begins (initially asphalted, then macadam).
For a few metres walk parallel with the Trieste/Trst motorway junction from which you move off when you see the CAI 32 on the right that will lead you to a sinkhole with the Austro-Hungarian Cemetery Aurisina/Nabrežina.
Go back to the trail that is parallel with the motorway. From here you reach the centre of Aurisina via an underpass. After the first houses, turn right first and then left to reach the provincial road SP 1, along which you walk in the direction of Trieste to the bus stop, where the CAI 1 trail starts on the right.
Continue along the southernmost part of the Karst edge through the settlements of Santa Croce/Križ and Prosecco/Prosek while crossing the zone of Park 97–Military Training Area Park (Parco 97 – Campo di addestramento militare austro-ungarico) and a sinkhole with the Austro-Hungarian Cemetery Prosecco/Prosek.
Reaching the monument to the fallen locals of Prosecco/Prosek turn slightly right and then left, following the CAI 1 trail (final few metres are asphalted) until you reach the CAI 9 which takes you along a quick descent to the train station of Miramare/Miramar, and then towards the entrance to the park that surrounds the notable Miramare Castle.
