The monument to the nine fallen has a historical and symbolic value as it was the first official monument erected to commemorate World War I in Italy. It was unveiled by Emanuele Filiberto Duke of Aosta in April 1919. The monument was built in honour of the last Italian soldiers who fell on 4 November 1918, only a few hours before the armistice was signed.
