The Austro-Hungarian military cemetery lies next to the civil cemetery at Vipava. Buried in it are soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian Army who died in the nearby hospitals. According to the data of Italian authorities that organized exhumation of soldiers from military cemeteries in the 1930s, 197 soldiers remain interred here. Among them were also pilots of several aviation units, also the Slovenian airman Julijan Kenda.

The military cemetery Vipava lies at the fringe of Vipava, next to the civil cemetery. The easiest access to the cemetery is to go from Ajdovščina towards Vipava; on entering the town, you come first to the military and then to the civil cemetery.
