Dom Trenta is home to the Infocentre of the Julijan Alps Crossborder Ecoregion and the Trenta Museum. The latter boasts a rich collection of ethnological items, and cultural and historical heritage, presenting the way of life in the Trenta Valley in the past. One of the most fascinating items is the reconstruction of the black kitchen that gives you an insight into the past way of life. The museum also exhibits items used by the pioneers of mountaineering while conquering the majestic peaks, photographs of famous mountain guides and a rich book collection on this topic. Through its collection, the museum tells the story of the history of mountaineering, which was very active in the Trenta Valley. Also captivating are the Bell of Trenta and the evergreen fable about the mysterious Goldenhorn (Slovene: Zlatorog).
