In the vicinity of the Russian Chapel and the Mihov dom Mountain Hut there is a large wooden Russian Cross just by the road, next to a stone wall. The cross was commissioned by an Austrian officer as a reminder and a memory of war. On it there is a bronze plaque with a poem by the Austrian poet Peter Rosegger which translates roughly like this:
To the North
Or to the South
Each road
Leads to the finish line.
To the war
Or to the peace
Only God’s will
Will prevail.
From the parking area under the Russian Chapel continue in the direction of Kranjska Gora. It is roughly 1.2 kilometres to the Russian Cross.
