The Austro-Hungarian military cemetery at Podnanos lies next to the civil cemetery of Podnanos. During World War I the cemetery was larger, but later its size gradually declined, since the locals began to use it for burying the dead from Podnanos and the nearby hamlets.
The soldiers who are buried here died in the hospital at Podnanos. However, it cannot be excluded that there are also members of aviation units which quartered on the Austro-Hungarian military airfield near Podnanos. According to the data of Italian authorities that organized exhumation of soldiers from military cemeteries in the 1930s, 22 soldiers are buried here.
