Lake Krn is the largest Slovenian high-altitude lake, lying at an altitude of 1,391 metres under mighty Mt. Krn (2,244 metres) on its northern side. It is of glacial origin, measuring 390 metres in length and 150 metres in width. Located not far from the Mountain Hut by the Krn Lakes, the Duplje alpine pasture, and Lake Dupeljsko jezero, it is considered one of the most beautiful scenery in the Julian Alps.
