The History and Arts Museum was founded in the 19th century with the aim of collecting and presenting the ancient finds of Trieste/Trst. The exhibition contains cultural heritage from prehistoric, Egyptian, Greek, Coptic and Roman times. The Orto Lapidario (Lapidary) and Giardino del Capitano (Captain’s Garden) also have invaluable treasures, including Winckelmannʼs Cenotaph, classical sculptures and much more to show.
