Buried in the cemetery are more than 450 soldiers of different nations, who mainly fell on the front which raged 15 kilometres west of Črniče. Most of them belonged to the 96th Infantry Regiment from Karlovac.

The military cemetery lies at the southern fringe of the village of Črniče in the immediate vicinity of the civil cemetery. The easiest access to the cemetery is to go from Nova Gorica towards Ajdovščina. In the centre of the village, behind the parish church of St. Vitus, a road branches off towards the nearby civil cemetery and after a good 300 metres brings you to your destination.
