The archaeological exhibition in the Provincial Museum of Gorizia/Gorica displays several finds from the period between the Paleolithic and the end of the Neolithic up to the High Middle Ages that were unearthed in the present-day area of Gorizia Province, and the Isonzo (Soča) and the Vipava valleys. Especially valuable is a small golden Lombard cross, dated towards the end of the 6th century.
