The Committee of the World Federation of Journalists and Travel Writers, FIJET, awards the Golden Apple top prize once a year to a state, city, destination, institution or individual for their exceptional contribution to the protection of, care for, promotion and development of cultural and natural heritage, which fosters the growth of quality in tourism. In the year 2012, this important award which had not been awarded to anyone in Slovenia before, went to the Walk of Peace Foundation for its project The Walk of Peace.
Not only the Walk of Peace Foundation is to be credited with earning this award, but also all the partners of the project and all those who supported its work.
