THE 21ST INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL ÈSTORIA 2025

The 21st international festival èStoria 2025 crossed borders for the first time this year – in addition to the well-attended events in Gorizia 🇮🇹, several lectures were also held at the Maks Bookstore Café and the EPIC Centre in Nova Gorica 🇸🇮!

Thanks to the #BeWoP Interreg Italy–Slovenia project and the support of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia, we made a major contribution to ensuring that 20 events were available for the first time in both languages, including in Slovenian – making them more accessible to a wider audience.

The èStoria festival once again proved to be rich in content, bringing together major names from the fields of history, culture, and the humanities across various venues.

On Friday, in cooperation with Friuli Venezia Giulia Turismo and the ZRC SAZU Milko Kos Historical Institute, we hosted a special round table titled A Travel Journal along the Walk of Peace”, announcing the upcoming book “The Long Road to Peace”.

The authors – Boštjan Videmšek and Valentina Lo Surdo – will combine personal and historical narratives in their forthcoming publication, offering starting points for deep reflection on the theme of peace.

“And with each step we move from the history we learn to the history we truly understand.”

This event was part of the BeWoP project, co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia 2021–2027 Programme.
