In July and August, strong storms caused real destruction in the Upper Soča Valley and Bohinj area. Due to many fallen trees, some trails are impassable in many places or more difficult to pass. We recommend that you ask about the condition of hiking trails at local information centres before going hiking.
The 3rd stage of the Walk of Peace in the area between Drežnica (from the path under the local road) and the Kozjak waterfall (to the fortified positions) is closed until further notice.
The section of the ravine, between the chapel on Mt. Planica and the Mountain Hut Kuhinja is closed due to the instability of one bridge, caused by a small landslide. Until the crossing is restored, use the hop on-hop off bus (Kobarid–Planina Kuhinja–Kobarid). An alternative trail leads from the Bes chapel over the Zaslap mountain pasture and then descends to the Mountain hut Kuhinja. The trail is marked.
