The former Italian and Austro-Hungarian cemetery “M.A.V.M. Magg. U. Orso” represents one of the best examples of conservation of historical sites in memory of the Great War. The bodies of the soldiers (1.739 Italians, 596 Austro-Hungarian soldiers) were moved some time ago to the Leiten Military Shrine in Asiago. The excavated sites are currently marked with cut spruce trunks, collected from a nearby mountain.
At the beginning of the 1990s, the reconstruction and restoration of the site began. The cemetery is accessible and serves as a place of pilgrimage and remembrance.
The Municipality of Roana and its Tourist Office are in charge of the promotion.
