The Entrenched Camp of Asmara is a series of World War I fortifications. The camp was built by the Italian Army to defend itself against the Austro-Hungarian Army. The camp is now a popular tourist point, offering visitors a glimpse into the history of the war. The site is accessible on foot or by car, and is open to the public all year-round. The camp has been restored in recent years to preserve its historical integrity. Local authorities are in charge of the promotion.
