You are cordially invited to the 25th Commemorative Hike to Lake Krn and the ceremony in honour of all soldiers who fell on the Isonzo Front.
The main ceremony will take place on Saturday, 14 November 2026, at 12:00 noon by Lake Krn, followed by a commemorative ceremony at the Hungarian Cross at 1:30 p.m.. The hike to the ceremony will start from the Lepena Valley. If weather and trail conditions are favourable and safe, additional routes will also be available from Bohinj and the Tolmin area.
The Mountain Hut at the Krn Lakes (Koča pri Krnskih jezerih) will be open throughout the commemorative event, from Friday, 13 November, to Sunday, 15 November. Advance reservations are recommended for overnight stays (contact: +386 5 82 80 300; krn@sps.eco). The Dr Klement Jug Mountain Lodge in Lepena (Dom dr. Klementa Juga) will also be open.
We remind all hikers that daylight hours are very short in November and mountain conditions may already be wintry. Please check the trail conditions before setting out on the hike.
