A Soldier’s Story from the Isonzo Front

Hiking Families Researchers Groups
Easy | 3–4 hours

Experience the life of a soldier and his personal battles while enjoying breathtaking views from Kolovrat.

More than a century ago, World War I carved deep scars into the region between the Alps and the Adriatic. The Southwestern Front was established and the Isonzo Front formed a part of it. The Italian and Austro-Hungarian Armies fought fierce battles here for 29 months.

Through the story, intertwined with historical facts and personal insights, you will experience the daily life of a soldier—step into his thoughts, fears, and fragile glimpses of humanity amidst the war. On the Kolovrat Ridge, where every stone, trench, and view tells its own story, the past comes alive once again.
