V langobardski dobi je bil sede\u017e kraljevega dvora in komornikova rezidenca. Oratorij Santa Maria in Valle, znan tudi kot <strong>Langobardski tempelj (Tempietto Longobardo)<\/strong>, se pona\u0161a z arhitekturo in umetnostjo iz 8. stoletja. Zgrajen kot palatinska kapela kraljevega dvora je kasneje postal oratorij za nune in je temu namenu slu\u017eil do konca 19. stoletja, ko je bil podarjen Ob\u010dini.
