Krn, ki so ga branili v gorskem bojevanju neizku\u0161eni <strong>honvedi<\/strong> (pripadniki ogrskih kraljevih domobranskih enot), sta <strong>16. junija 1915<\/strong> z nenadnim napadom <strong>osvojili \u010deti alpinov iz bataljona Exilles<\/strong>. Italijani so v spomin na ta dogodek tam postavili <strong>spomenik podporo\u010dniku Albertu Piccu<\/strong>, ki je padel ob zavzetju Krna. Danes na tem mestu stoji planinsko zaveti\u0161\u010de.<br \/>\nMed vojno je bil Krn eden najpomembnej\u0161ih utrjenih vrhov v Poso\u010dju. Kot najvi\u0161ja gora v masivu je bil zelo dobra razgledna strate\u0161ka to\u010dka.
