Italijani so Hum prepredli z <strong>mulatjerami, strelskimi jarki in kavernami<\/strong>. Predvsem na jugozahodnem delu pa so postavili pravo <strong>naselje barak in bivalnih enot<\/strong>. Njegovo vi\u0161ino in strate\u0161ko lego so s pridom izkoristili in na hribu uredili veliko \u0161tevilo <strong>topni\u0161kih polo\u017eajev<\/strong>, s katerih so lahko obstreljevali tako boji\u0161\u010de na Mrzlem vrhu, Mengore in okolico Tolmina kot tudi nasprotnikove polo\u017eaje na kanalskem boji\u0161\u010du.
