Dolina Zajzere je stranska povezava med dolino Val Dogna (Dunja) in Kanalsko dolino\/Val Canale in je tako predstavljala kriti\u010dno obmo\u010dje, kjer bi tako italijanska, kot tudi avstro-ogrska armada lahko vpadli na sovra\u017enikovo ozemlje. Dolina je bila polna voja\u0161ke infrastrukture. Malo Polda\u0161njo \u0161pico so <strong>avstro-ogrski vojaki zasedli poleti 1915<\/strong>, <strong>hude bitke pa so se tu odvijale med 16. in 18. julijem 1916<\/strong>, ko so Italijani neuspe\u0161no posku\u0161ali zavzeti ta vrh.
