Italijani so poru\u0161ili most v vasi Muost\/Ponte San Quirino, da bi zakasnili napredovanje cesarskih \u010det. <strong>Napad na Karko\u0161 se je za\u010del v prvih jutranjih urah 27. oktobra 1917<\/strong>. Od A\u017ele\/Azzida in \u0160pietra\/San Pietro al Natisone, ki sta bila zasedena 26. oktobra, je cesarska vojska za\u010dela divje streljati proti gori, ki jo je branila brigada Ferrara. Obstreljevanje je trajalo nekaj ur, medtem pa so nem\u0161ke patrulje sku\u0161ale napredovati do vzno\u017eja gore.
