{"id":9294,"date":"2021-05-17T08:49:35","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T08:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thewalkofpeace.com\/location\/solkan-railway-bridge\/"},"modified":"2022-04-20T12:10:20","modified_gmt":"2022-04-20T12:10:20","slug":"solkan-railway-bridge","status":"publish","type":"location","link":"https:\/\/www.thewalkofpeace.com\/it\/locations\/solkan-railway-bridge\/","title":{"rendered":"Ponte ferroviario di Solkan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Il ponte ferroviario di Solkan (Salcano)<\/strong> sul fiume So\u010da (Isonzo) <strong>\u00e8, con il suo arco centrale dall\u2019apertura di 85 metri, il pi\u00f9 grande ponte in pietra al mondo<\/strong>. Venne costruito nell\u2019ambito del collegamento Europa Centrale\u2013Trieste\/Trst ed \u00e8 uno dei 65 ponti e viadotti sulla <strong>tratta di Bohinj<\/strong> <strong>realizzati tra il 1900 ed il 1906<\/strong>. Per il ponte di Solkan furono fatali gli avvenimenti sul <strong>fronte dell\u2019Isonzo<\/strong>. Nei combattimenti per Gorizia\/Gorica, <strong>nell\u2019agosto 1916, fu fatta saltare in aria l\u2019arcata principale del ponte.<\/strong> La costruzione provvisoria in acciaio, collocata nel 1918, permise il traffico attraverso il ponte sino al <strong>1927<\/strong>, quando <strong>le ferrovie statali italiane<\/strong>, che allora gestivano il ponte, <strong>terminarono la ristrutturazione dell\u2019arcata in pietra tagliata<\/strong>.
