Giusto<\/strong><\/a><strong> a Trieste\/Trst <\/strong>ospit\u00f2 un <strong>castelliere,<\/strong> sostituito poi in <strong>epoca romana<\/strong> dalle prime strutture civili e religiose (la <strong>basilica<\/strong>, il <strong>tempio<\/strong> &#8211; probabilmente dedicato a Giove, Giunone e Minerva), difese da mura di cinta. Nel I secolo d.C. furono costruiti i <strong>propilei, <\/strong>ovvero l\u2019entrata monumentale all\u2019area consacrata ancora oggi visibile, e le fondamenta dell\u2019originaria basilica romana.<br \/>\nTra il 1929 e il 1934, durante gli scavi, furono scoperte una <strong>basilica romana<\/strong> a tre navate oltre a un\u2019area pavimentata, dedicata alle bancarelle del mercato. Molto probabilmente si trattava del <strong>foro<\/strong> o di una sua parte. Il foro era un ampio spazio aperto dove i romani si incontravano per discutere di affari.
