Fu arrestato dalle autorit\u00e0 austriache per aver pianificato l\u2019assassinio dell\u2019imperatore Francesco Giuseppe nel 1882 e, dopo essersi dichiarato colpevole, venne condannato a morte per impiccagione.<br \/>\nIn epoca austro-ungarica si trovava una grande caserma in <strong>Piazza della Caserma\/Kasernenplatz<\/strong>, sostituita da una serie di edifici in stile razionalista costruiti negli anni \u201930 e \u201940.
