Fu <strong>costruita nel XVI secolo<\/strong> dai Veneti <strong>per motivi di difesa<\/strong> ed \u00e8il <strong>simbolo di Monfalcone<\/strong>. Fu eretta sui resti di un castelliere preromano e poi romano dal periodo dei Patriarchi di Aquileia.\u00a0 Nella fortificazione c\u2019\u00e8 un piccolo <strong>museo speleo-paleontologico <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.turismofvg.it\/musei\/museo-della-rocca-di-monfalcone\"><strong>Museo della Rocca<\/strong><\/a>).
