Nel Medioevo, quando questa porta si chiudeva, separava il borgo castellano dalla campagna circostante. La <a href=\"https:\/\/letsgo.gorizia.it\/it\/punti-di-interesse\/via-rastello-la-strada-del-commercio\/\"><strong>Via Rastello<\/strong><\/a> fu la <strong>via commerciale principale di Gorizia\/Gorica <\/strong>per centinaia di anni.
