Allo scoppiare della guerra alcuni abitanti si arruolarono volontariamente nell\u2019esercito italiano, in quanto mossi da sentimenti irredentisti, altri invece si unirono all\u2019esercito austro-ungarico. In memoria dei soldati di Gradisca d\u2019Isonzo, indipendentemente dallo schieramento per il quale combatterono, oggi nel Parco della Rimembranza tra Viale Elena e Via Gorizia si ergono <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turismofvg.it\/monumenti-ai-caduti-italiani-ed-austroungarici-di-gradisca\"><strong>due monumenti<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\nIl <strong>Monumento &#8211; altare (Ara caduti) \u00e8 dedicato ai soldati che combatterono per l\u2019esercito italiano<\/strong>.
