Fu costruito nel XVI secolo per motivi di difesa, per il deposito del mercurio e per la gestione della miniera. Il castello ha un aspetto rinascimentale con un cortile a portico e pittoreschi affreschi barocchi che sicuramente vi incanteranno! Oggi ospita <strong>il Museo Civico di Idrija<\/strong>. Il museo racconta la storia cinquecentenaria della <strong>miniera<\/strong> e della citt\u00e0 di <strong>Idrija (Idria)<\/strong>, illustrando la dura vita quotidiana dei minatori, alleggerita dalla bellezza e dal candore dei merletti che venivano creati da mogli e figlie.
