Sabba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dal 1943 al 1945 nella <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turismofvg.it\/musei\/museo-civico-della-risiera-di-san-sabba\"><strong>Risiera di San Sabba<\/strong><\/a><strong>, <\/strong>che si trova nel sobborgo di <strong>Trieste\/Trst<\/strong>, <strong>funzion\u00f2 l<\/strong>\u2019<strong>unico forno crematorio in Italia<\/strong>. I nazisti trasformarono l\u2019ex impianto per la lavorazione del riso &#8212; risiera &#8212; <strong>in un campo di prigionia, magazzini per merci saccheggiate e in un forno crematorio<\/strong>. La Risiera di San Sabba rappresentava per molti solamente una <strong>fermata intermedia sulla rotta per i campi tedeschi<\/strong>. Ad essere imprigionati alla Risiera furono soprattutto <strong>sloveni e croati di Trieste e dell\u2019Istria, antifascisti italiani e molte famiglie ebraiche<\/strong>. Gli arrestati furono sottoposti a torture per ottenere da loro informazioni sul movimento della Resistenza. Nel caso le informazioni ricavate non fossero state utili, gli arrestati venivano condannati a morte o caricati su un treno diretto per i campi di concentramento. Su 123 convogli ben 69 furono portati dalla Risiera ai campi di sterminio, altri 30 convogli invece furono portati nei campi di lavoro forzato. Poich\u00e9 i tedeschi negli ultimi giorni della guerra abbatterono il crematorio e distrussero tutti i documenti relativi ad esso, una stima sull\u2019esatto numero di prigionieri e morti risulta impossibile.
