In determinati periodi si riempie di acqua, in altri \u00e8 quasi secco. Assieme ad un paesaggio incomparabile, fa parte della <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turismofvg.it\/parchi-e-riserve-naturali\/riserva-naturale-laghi-di-doberdo-e-pietrarossa\"><strong>Riserva naturale dei laghi di Doberd\u00f2 e Pietrarossa\/Naravni rezervat Doberdobskega in Prelosnega jezera<\/strong><\/a>. <strong>Durante i combattimenti sul Carso rappresent\u00f2 una fonte molto importante di rifornimento d\u2019acqua in quest\u2019area notoriamente secca.<\/strong> Il nome deriva dalla vicina localit\u00e0 Doberd\u00f2 del Lago\/Doberdob, uno dei maggiori centri abitati sull\u2019altipiano.
