Come monte pi\u00f9 alto del massiccio era considerato un buon punto strategico panoramico. Una delle cime sulle quali \u00e8 stato versato maggior sangue \u00e8 anche la vicina <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soca-valley.com\/it\/in-cerca-di-avventura\/attivit%C3%A0-\/escursionismo\/2021022411543267\/sentieri-escursionistici\/#area=*&amp;bm=osm%3Asummer&amp;cat=Escursionismo-main,Escursione,Trekking,Sentiero%20tematico,Alpinismo-main,Via%20ferrata,Sentiero%20alpinistico&amp;filter=r-fullyTranslatedLangus-,sb-sortedBy-0&amp;ipd=41203335&amp;q=Batognica&amp;zc=12,13.71566,46.26653\"><strong>Batognica (Monte Rosso)<\/strong><\/a>. Le prime linee del fronte di entrambi gli eserciti erano distanti appena alcune decine di metri. Nel <strong>1917<\/strong> qui ebbe luogo una <strong>guerra di mine<\/strong>, <strong>conclusa il 24 ottobre con il minamento austro-ungarico delle postazioni italiane<\/strong>, la presa della montagna e lo sfondamento verso Kobarid (Caporetto). Ancora oggi in cima alla Batognica sono visibili dei <strong>crateri <\/strong>causati dalle esplosioni.
