{"id":8504,"date":"2021-05-17T08:49:49","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T08:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thewalkofpeace.com\/location\/mt-krn\/"},"modified":"2023-07-10T14:01:53","modified_gmt":"2023-07-10T14:01:53","slug":"mt-krn","status":"publish","type":"location","link":"https:\/\/www.thewalkofpeace.com\/it\/locations\/mt-krn\/","title":{"rendered":"Monte Krn (Monte Nero)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nel maggio 1915, all\u2019inizio delle attivit\u00e0 militari nella Valle del fiume So\u010da (Isonzo), l\u2019esercito austro-ungarico si spost\u00f2 sulla sponda sinistra del fiume So\u010da e fortific\u00f2 le proprie posizioni sulle cime della catena del <strong>Krn (Monte Nero)<\/strong>. Il monte, difeso dagli soldati dell\u2019esercito ungherese <strong>Honved<\/strong> (costituito da rappresentanti delle milizie territoriali regie ungheresi nell\u2019Impero austro-ungarico), inesperti nei combattimenti montani, venne <strong>espugnato il 16 giugno 1915<\/strong>, con un attacco improvviso, da <strong>due compagnie alpine del battaglione Exilles<\/strong>. Gli italiani, in ricordo di questo evento, vi posizionarono un monumento dedicato al <strong>sottotenente Alberto Picco,<\/strong> che era caduto nella presa del monte Krn. Oggi in quel luogo c\u2019\u00e8 un rifugio.<\/p>\n<p>Durante la guerra il monte Krn fu una delle vette pi\u00f9 consolidate della Valle del fiume So\u010da. Come monte pi\u00f9 alto del massiccio era considerato un buon punto strategico panoramico.
