Marco)<\/strong> l\u20198 agosto <strong>1922<\/strong>, alla presenza del re italiano Vittorio Emanuele III, fu scoperto <strong>un monumento (Obelisco della vittoria) con cappella dedicato a San Marco<\/strong>. Fu collocato <strong>in onore dei soldati italiani caduti<\/strong>, in esso furono scolpiti i nomi delle formazioni militari italiane che presero parte ai combattimenti per Gorizia\/Gorica. <strong>Conclusa la Seconda guerra mondiale<\/strong>, nel 1948, <strong>il monumento fu fatto esplodere dai giovani attivisti del ginnasio goriziano<\/strong>, che allora aveva sede a \u0160empeter pri Gorici.
